Frequently Asked Questions

CREATIVE NATURE, of STREAM SOURCE LLC

How long have you been in business?

Stream Source LLC was founded in 2018 and has been doing business as Creative Nature since 2021. Stephanie is a former Spanish teacher with fluency in the language and culture of Mexico as she has been traveling to Mexico for 20 years and has led 5 small student-group trips to Mexico as well as one to Costa Rica.  Stephanie is an avid traveler and has been a Spanish teacher for the past 20 years.  Stephanie earned her MAT Spanish in 2014, and became a registered Yoga teacher in 2018.

What do I need to bring?

Mexico is hot & humid!  The sun is strong and there are bigger bugs than most places in the Midwest.  See the packing list in the manual for guidance on how to pack and what to bring and not bring to Mexico. You should plan to bring your own yoga mat for the retreat. Your welcome packet will come with a comprehensive packing list and what to expect.

 Who are your guides?

Delio Aguilar has led many of Stephanie’s prior group trips, and has become an integral part of the retreats and planning with Stephanie.  Delio is super enthusiastic and loves sharing about his culture and life.  Delio always treats you like family and is ready to lend a hand, break out into dance, sing a song, and keep you well-informed of the Maya and Mexican way of life.  Born and raised in Mérida, Yucatán, México; Delio is perfectly knowledgeable to lead our group traversing the very land he has studied his entire life.

How do I know if I am ready for adventure travel?

Participants should feel comfortable walking many miles a day and hiking. Climbing is optional, but not mandatory.  Participants will be able to choose if/when to engage in certain activities according to their comfort level.  However, it is important to note that we will be traveling in a group and while you can choose not to participate in specifics, we will all be together for the majority of the experience.

What's the food like?

Mexican Food is known for its spice!  While that is certainly true, it isn’t the only option.  Spice is readily offered, but does not come standard on every dish. Being close to the ocean, Mexico has delicious seafood options, as well as meat-based, vegetarian and vegan options.  Everyone’s needs can be met.  It is important that during the application process you detail your dietary  needs, including any food allergies.

What if I'm traveling alone?

No problem!  Stephanie has spent many years traveling on her own.  When you travel to Mexico, you become family.  You are never alone; this trip is designed to make connections in many different ways.  You have a choice to share a double-room, and perhaps a bed, or choose a single-room (limited availability), price varies for each option.

Are children allowed to join and participate?

Generally this is a yes, but for this yoga retreat the preference is that all participants must be at least 21 years of age or older.

However, the answer is most often an emphatic “Absolutely!!’  Stephanie has traveled with teens, as a former high school Spanish teacher, and has traveled to Spain and Mexico with her own children.  Children must be at least 10 years old and able to participate unassisted.

How do I sign up for a trip?

It’s easy, you register and once registration and payment are complete you will receive a welcome letter, a link to a Welcome Folder on Google Drive and a link to pay the $500 deposit to hold your spot.  Your application and deposit to secure your spot is non-refundable and goes toward the total trip cost.

Can I give a trip as a gift?

Absolutely! Please note if the gift is a surprise, the gifter will need to have all pertinent information for the application process including deposit, passport, flight information, and payment(s).

Is airfare included in the trip price?

NO.  Participants will be expected to book and buy their own flights to and from the Mérida, Mexico Airport.  Due to the nature of the trip, the building of community, all participants will be asked to arrive around the same time on the first day of the retreat (Oct 24). United Airlines has a hub in Merida, and one daily flight in and out of the city.   Stephanie at Creative Nature will make recommendations as necessary for booking.

When are payments due?

Upon registration. A payment plan option can be selected using Affirm.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Upon registration you will be promoted to pay via Stripe. If you need a payment plan, you can arrange that on the checkout site via Affirm.

What if I need to cancel my trip?
